Stay-at-Home Mom – A Job That Never Ends
This Mothers’ Day, we at FamilyTime acknowledge and pay tribute to stay-at-home moms who have the toughest job in the world – a job that doesn’t even pay. At some point of time, we all may have underestimated how tough our stay-at-home moms have it. We tend to be insensitive and less caring at times. But did you know that stay-at-home moms work more than the working moms? This year, Salar.com did a series of survey and found out that stay-at-home moms are worth more than the working moms. So a stay-at-home mom works 92 hours a week while a working mom works, on average, for 59 hours. Salary.com came up with in ingenious way to calculate the worth of a stay-at-home mom. They came up with 20 jobs that could make up the position of Mom and then benchmarked the median salaries for each job. So according to Salary.com, a stay-at-home mom’s base salary for 40 hours totals to $48,509 and the overtime’s salary for 52 hours totals to $94,593 and so the total worth of a stay-at-home mom is $143,102.
And on the other hand, a working mom’s worth is:
So a working mom works for 59 hours a week and so the base salary for 40 hours is $52,685 and her overtime salary for 19 hours is $37,538. And this makes her total worth to be $90,223.
Stay-at-Home or Working, Moms are the Best!
But still, we can’t really say that stay-at-home moms are better than the working moms. They both have their own set of challenges that they meet so beautifully and with utmost effort.
